Contrary to what is often depicted in movies, automatic fire sprinkler systems do not release water throughout the entire building all at once. Sprinkler heads are activated individually by the fire. When the heat of a fire raises the ceiling temperature to the sprinkler head’s operating point (usually 165º F), a solder link will melt or a liquid-filled glass bulb will shatter to open that single sprinkler head, releasing water directly over the source of the heat. The sprinkler heads are tied into a network of piping with water under pressure. As the automatic fire sprinkler system is activated, an alarm is sounded to alert the building occupants and the fire department of its activation. K&J Integrated Systems understands how fire sprinklers systems work and make sure they function properly. Knowing the process and going the extra mile on our customers’ fire sprinklers is something we take great pride in.
Your fire protection system is only as good as your last test and inspection. Without a regular check of your systems, you may be at risk. At KJI Integrated systems we have a certified team of licensed technicians that have the knowledge and expertise to test, inspect and service your fire sprinklers or fire suppression system.
There is a difference between an inspection and a test.
An inspection is a visual examination of a water-based fire protection system or portion thereof to verify that it appears to be in an operating condition and free of physical damage. Our team at KJI Integrated Systems is fully trained to assure that the work we do is code compliant.
A test is a procedure used to determine the status of a system as intended by conducting periodic physical checks (hands-on). K&J Integrated Systems offers different types of testing including fire pump testing. KJI Integrated systems test systems for the following:
